HubSpot alternatives for AI-first sales teams

HubSpot is the default CRM for a reason, and Breeze adds agents to every paid edition. Teams still look elsewhere when the seat price, the onboarding fees or the amount of manual upkeep stop matching how they want to work. Six alternatives, compared honestly.

By Soham Sarkar, Cofounder and CEOUpdated

Teams look past HubSpot when per-seat pricing and onboarding fees outgrow a small team, when the useful automation sits two tiers up, or when they want AI to do the account work rather than suggest it inside a record a rep still maintains. The short list: Heliyos for AI workers with one customer memory and a Reviews queue (and a two-way HubSpot sync if you stay); Attio for a flexible CRM with agents; Day.ai for memory built from communication; Pipedrive for a visual pipeline; Salesforce for enterprise governance; Close for inside sales teams that live on calls and email.

Why teams look beyond HubSpot

HubSpot Sales Hub runs from a free CRM for two users to Enterprise, and Agent Hub is included in Starter, Professional and Enterprise with Prospecting, Nurture, Customer, Data and Revenue agents plus an Agent Builder. The reasons teams compare alternatives are concrete.

  • Pricing model. Professional starts at $90 per seat per month and Enterprise at $150, each with a required one-time onboarding fee of $1,500 and $3,500. Credits are included (3,000 and 5,000 a month) and extra credits cost $0.01 each, so agent-heavy use is a second line on the invoice.
  • Scope. The free and Starter tiers are generous for contact management but the automation most AI-first teams want is in Professional and above.
  • Control. The AI page says you can approve automatic CRM updates and follow-up drafts after every meeting. There is no single queue across email, deal changes and files that shows evidence and reasoning for each action.
  • Data model. Contacts, companies, deals and tickets with custom objects at Enterprise. The record is still owned by the rep, and data quality depends on the team filling it in.
  • Weight. HubSpot is a full suite. Sales teams that want only the sales part are carrying a marketing and service platform they do not use.

Heliyos (ours)

Best for: small and mid-sized revenue teams that want AI workers to keep records current and follow-ups moving, with a person approving anything important, whether or not HubSpot stays as the system of record.

Heliyos keeps one customer memory per account. Parker, the AI platform admin, updates company, people and deal records after every email and meeting. Taylor, the AI account executive, handles follow-ups, proposals and scheduling. Custom workers cover your own process. Outbound email, deal stage changes and shared files wait in Reviews with evidence and reasoning. Workers run on their own sandboxed computer with only the tools their job allows. Heliyos syncs two-way with HubSpot, so you can keep HubSpot for reporting and let workers do the upkeep.

Limits: closed beta with a waitlist. It is a revenue system, not a marketing or service suite, and it does not sync with Salesforce today.

Pricing model: usage-based with no seats or onboarding fees.

Attio

Best for: teams that want a modern, flexible CRM with agents and workflows, and an ops owner to shape the data model.

Attio calls itself the CRM for agentic revenue, with a Research agent, Custom Agents, a Web Agent, Ask Attio, workflows and call recording. Objects, records and lists adapt to most motions, and a Free tier covers up to three users.

Limits: AI runs on seat and workspace credits on top of per-user plans, object counts are capped by tier, and a rep still owns the record.

Pricing model: per user per month. Free, Plus at $35 annual or $44 monthly, Pro at $79 or $99, Enterprise custom.

Day.ai

Best for: teams that want customer memory built automatically from email, calendar, meetings and Slack, with named agents that brief and triage.

Day.ai describes an LLM-optimised Customer Memory and agents that live in an org chart, carry skills such as a morning briefing or inbox triage, and report to someone on the team. Its pages say nothing goes out without your approval and that an audit trail shows what ran.

Limits: pipeline and opportunity management starts at Professional, prospecting at Executive, and the integration and admin surface is smaller than HubSpot's.

Pricing model: per agent per month, billed annually. Free, Turbo at $24, Professional at $60, Executive at $200.

Pipedrive

Best for: sales teams that want a visual pipeline and a proven, affordable CRM without the rest of a suite.

Pipedrive is pipeline-first: deals, stages, activities and forecasts, with AI assistance for emails and deal insights and a marketplace of add-ons for lead capture, web visitors and documents.

Limits: AI is assistive, several capabilities are paid add-ons, and relationship context lives in notes and activities that the rep writes.

Pricing model: per seat per month across four tiers (Lite, Growth, Premium, Ultimate) with monthly and annual billing. Current figures are on their pricing page.

Salesforce

Best for: enterprises that need deep customisation, governance and an admin team, with Agentforce for agents.

Sales Cloud runs from a Free Suite to Max. Agentforce for Sales is an add-on from $125 per user per month and is included in Max with Agentforce Coworker. Flex Credits fund agent usage on Core and above.

Limits: AI can be added to Core and above, so the realistic entry point for agents is $195 per user per month plus the add-on. Implementation is a project.

Pricing model: per user per month, billed annually. Starter $25, Pro $100, Core $195, Advanced $395, Max $550.

Close

Best for: inside sales teams that run on calling, SMS and email from one inbox and want a built-in AI agent.

Close bundles calling, SMS, email and a central inbox with Chloe, its AI sales agent, on every plan. Growth and Scale add workflows, a power dialler, lead summaries, suggested actions for stalled deals and Auto Updates. Trials run 14 days with no card.

Limits: it is built for high-velocity inside sales rather than account-based work, and AI features draw on monthly credit allowances that refresh without rollover.

Pricing model: per user per month with AI credits. Solo, Essentials ($35 to $49 depending on billing), Growth ($99 to $109) and Scale ($139 to $149), with custom pricing for larger teams.

How to choose

Export ten real accounts and run them through two shortlisted products for a working week.

  • After each meeting, who updated the record and is the source attached?
  • How many follow-up drafts were waiting without anyone asking?
  • Where do approvals live, and can a teammate see the evidence behind each one?
  • What is the all-in cost at twice your headcount, including credits, add-ons and onboarding fees?
  • If you keep HubSpot for reporting, does the alternative sync both ways?

Our verdict

HubSpot is still the right choice for companies that want marketing, sales and service in one place and have the budget for Professional or Enterprise. If the goal is AI doing the work rather than suggesting it, pick Heliyos: workers keep records and follow-ups current, Reviews keeps a person in control, and the two-way HubSpot sync means you do not have to choose on day one. Attio and Day.ai are strong AI-forward CRMs, and Pipedrive, Salesforce and Close each fit a specific team shape well.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Do I have to leave HubSpot to use Heliyos?
No. Heliyos syncs two-way with HubSpot. Many teams keep HubSpot for reporting and marketing while workers keep records current and drafts ready in Heliyos.
Is HubSpot Breeze enough for an AI-first team?
Breeze agents are useful for prospecting, nurture and data questions, and you can approve CRM updates and drafts after meetings. The record is still maintained by the rep, which is the gap AI-native products close.
What is the cheapest HubSpot alternative?
Pipedrive and Attio have the lowest per-seat entry points among the six, and Attio and Day.ai have free tiers. Heliyos has no seats or onboarding fees and bills on usage.
Which alternative is best for a large enterprise?
Salesforce with Agentforce, if governance and customisation matter most. HubSpot Enterprise remains the lighter suite option.
