By Soham Sarkar, Cofounder and CEOUpdated
folk is a light, well-liked CRM for people-driven teams, with AI assistants for research, follow-ups and recaps, a Chrome extension for LinkedIn, and per-member pricing from $24 a month. Heliyos is an AI-native OS where named workers keep one customer memory per account current and draft the follow-up work, with every outbound action waiting in Reviews. Choose folk if your team captures relationships across LinkedIn, inbox and WhatsApp and wants a simple CRM the team runs itself. Choose Heliyos if you want workers to run upkeep and follow-up, evidence on every review, and usage-based pricing with no seats.
What folk does well
folk calls itself "The AI CRM for your entire sales motion" and says it is "Trusted by 5,000+ companies worldwide". Based in Paris and founded in 2020, it shows a 4.5 rating on G2 from more than 300 reviews.
- Capture from where relationships happen. The folkX Chrome extension pulls people and companies from LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, Gmail, Outlook, WhatsApp, Instagram and X into the CRM in a click.
- A data model that fits the team. People, Companies and Deals come as standard, with custom objects on Premium. folk says you can "design the ideal data model and feed it with context from 30+ integrations".
- AI assistants with specific jobs. The Follow-up Assistant "scans your conversations to identify optimal follow-up timing and draft emails". The Recap Assistant summarises interactions, the Research Assistant writes research notes and the Workflow Assistant sends trigger-based emails.
- Enrichment and scoring built in. Magic fields fill AI-generated fields, email and phone finding is included, and folk describes scoring a lead "against the ICP definition".
- Messaging in the product. Email campaigns on every plan, sequences on Premium, and a composer with "Send now" and "Send later".
Where Heliyos differs
folk gives people a better CRM to work in. Heliyos gives the work to workers and gives people a place to review it. That difference drives most of the others.
- Workers rather than assistants. Heliyos ships Taylor, an AI account executive who handles follow-ups, proposals and scheduling, and Parker, an AI platform admin who keeps company, people and deal records current after every email and meeting. Custom workers can be added. folk’s assistants suggest, summarise and enrich; a person does the selling.
- Memory. Heliyos keeps one customer memory per account, with sources attached, that every worker reads before acting and writes to after. folk keeps a record per person, company and deal with interaction history.
- Review with evidence. In Heliyos, outbound email, deal stage changes and file sharing go through a Reviews queue with the evidence and reasoning attached. folk lets you preview Workflow Assistant emails but does not describe an approval step.
- Sandboxed computer. Each Heliyos worker runs on its own sandboxed computer with only the tools its job allows. folk’s assistants act inside the CRM and its integrations.
- Pricing. Heliyos is usage-based with no seats and is in closed beta. folk prices per member, with monthly limits per plan on enrichments, AI fields and messages.
How they handle a reply from a prospect
In folk, the reply arrives through the inbox sync and shows on the person, the company and the deal. The Follow-up Assistant can flag the thread and draft a response. A person edits the draft, moves the deal if needed, and chooses "Send now" or "Send later".
In Heliyos, Parker reads the thread and updates the company, people and deal records in the customer memory, attaching the message as the source. A stage change waits in Reviews with the quote that justified it. Taylor drafts the reply from the same memory and it waits in the same queue with its reasoning. Nothing reaches the prospect without a person approving it.
Setup and time to value
folk is quick to start. Sign up, install folkX, connect Gmail or Outlook, and begin capturing people from LinkedIn and your inbox. New workspaces get a two-week trial of the Premium features. Time goes into shaping objects, pipelines and views, and choosing which assistants to turn on.
Heliyos asks you to connect Gmail or Outlook, a calendar and optionally HubSpot, then add accounts to the Watchlist. The first record updates and drafts appear in Reviews. There is no schema to design because the worker jobs are fixed by default. Heliyos is in closed beta with a waitlist.
Pricing and who it fits
folk lists three plans per member: Standard at $24 a month billed annually ($30 monthly), Premium at $48 ($60 monthly) and Enterprise from $80 ($100 monthly). Standard includes pipelines, email campaigns, enrichment, AI assistants and Magic fields. Premium adds custom objects, sequences, dashboards and API access. Enterprise adds custom limits and group permissions.
Heliyos prices on usage with no seats. You pay for the work the workers do, not for how many people log in. That suits teams where a few people review a lot of worker output. folk’s per-member model suits teams where many people work contacts themselves.
When to choose folk, when to choose Heliyos, when to run both
- Choose folk if your team lives in LinkedIn, inbox and messaging apps, wants a CRM that is pleasant and quick to set up, and prefers a low per-member price.
- Choose Heliyos if you want named workers to own upkeep and follow-up, a Reviews queue with evidence on everything outbound, and usage-based pricing. It fits founders and revenue leaders at B2B teams who want to delegate without losing control.
- Running both is plausible. folk often sits beside other tools as the place relationships are captured, and Heliyos works from your inbox, calendar and meetings. The two do not sync directly today; a team that keeps HubSpot as the record gets the tighter pairing through Heliyos’s two-way sync.

Our verdict
folk is a very good CRM for teams whose selling runs on relationships and who want the tool to stay out of the way. The extension, the assistants and the price make it easy to recommend to a team that will do the work itself. Heliyos is for teams that want the work done for them, with a person deciding what goes out: the workers and the memory are already there, every review shows its evidence, and you pay for work done rather than members. Pick on who you want doing the upkeep, your people or your workers.
